And our grammar has gone to hell.

This is the price we pay for being on a (scheduled) rampage of DESTRUCTION.

  1. sounds like somebody needs to get laid.
(what? always worked for my bad moods…)

  2. The volume of potential responses to this almost warrants a whole new blog.
I need to get my cleaning done is what I need. After that I have this wedding to help with; then there’s Christmas.
Sorry, I’m just too busy at the moment.

Interesting use of tense there – was this before you got married and stopped having bad moods?

  4. In railroad slang, an engineer who applies the train’s air brakes in an emergency is said to “clean the clock” or “wipe the gauge” as the speedometer needle drops to zero. It seems logical that such a graphic metaphor would be the perfect way to describe stopping an opponent in his tracks, and even if this is not the source of the phrase, it may have contributed to its popularization.
    “Keep the Clock Clean”

    Heh. How Freudian of me.
(maybe that why I’m so grumpy these days…)
