I Am Not Dead, Honest

But, as I was saying to Xade yesterday, I haven't posted for a full week. First time that's happened since the inception of this blog.

Normal services will resume.

My lifestyle has been completely discombobulated over the last two weeks, as a result of taking a - hopefully reasonably temporary - job which involves getting up at four o'clock in the morning Mon-Fri. (N.B. No, that wasn't a mistake - I have to get up at four o'clock in the morning.) (Not tomorrow. Tomorrow I only have to get up at seven or so.)

I do get to say 'hello' to Cheryl Kernot every day, which is kind of cool. In some much less cruddy alternate universe somewhere she is Prime Minister now, you know.

Sad, really.

It has some plusses. I quite like the small hours of the morning. It's just strange and hard to adapt to.

4am is no mans land. 3am is still night time, 5am is early morning. But 4am? No mans land.

It is. I worked third shift at a warehouse over Christmas break one year, and 4 a.m. never stopped being weird.
