I gave him a copy of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.trystingfields.com\/2007\/etc\/ETS.html\">The Mishukis&#8217; Everyone&#8217;s Too Stupid<\/a> and he reciprocated by sending me a double-sided CD of his songs ingeniously fashioned from two CDs hand-glued together, with a personalised sleeve written on what appeared to be toilet paper. Since my old toploader died I can&#8217;t play it anymore, but it&#8217;s still a treasured possession.<\/p>\n<p>Back then he was, like me, working in a market research callcentre; these days he&#8217;s studying <a href=\"http:\/\/www.rmit.edu.au\/study-with-us\/levels-of-study\/undergraduate-study\/bachelor-degrees\/bp201\/\">Sound Art at RMIT<\/a>. Last year he produced an audio collage intended to convey the ambiance of a football match which was played over the loudspeakers at the MCG as part of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.theage.com.au\/entertainment\/art-and-design\/footy-to-get-the-boot-at-mcg-20100413-s5mw.html\">Sports Club 2: The Arena<\/a> for <a href=\"http:\/\/nextwave.org.au\">Next Wave.<\/p>\n<p>More recent projects include <a href=\"http:\/\/lukehand.posterous.com\/metrics-of-a-bag-of-crisps\">calculating the metrics of a bag of chips<\/a>, painstakingly re-rendering <a href=\"http:\/\/lukehand.posterous.com\/new-york-times-wednesday-september-12-2001\">page one of the September 12, 2001 edition of the New York Times<\/a> <a href=\"http:\/\/lukehand.posterous.com\/oh-its-just-an-8xlife-size-colour-pencil-rend\">at 8x life-size in colour pencil<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/lukehand.posterous.com\/the-prince-of-lumps-the-worlds-2nd-newspaper\">producing an album of original sound pieces based on The Telegraph&#8217;s laughably pretentious track-by-track review of the new Radiohead album<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/lukehand.posterous.com\/42125146\">etc<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/lukehand.posterous.com\/i-really-cannot-believe-that-im-not-a-pop-sta\">etc<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/lukehand.posterous.com\/audio-shredding-two-2-a4-pieces-of-paper\">etc<\/a>, <a href=\"http:\/\/lukehand.posterous.com\/7-or-despair\">etc<\/a>.
